Welcome to Oasis Church

At Oasis Church we are a family who enjoy life in response to knowing God loves us and desires relationship with us. We have a hope-filled future because of that love. We want you to know how loved you are and invite you to come and meet us on Sunday and find out more.

Sunday Meetings

Our emphasis on a Sunday is encountering the presence of God together and receiving revelation from God, whether that be through teaching or spiritual gifts. Our meetings are usually a mix of worship, prayer, a talk and ministry; we welcome people of all ages and stages and have dedicated children’s work teams for children and youth from School Reception Year upwards.

Sunday 25th August 2019

A new name for Oasis Church Chelmsford

It was probably five years ago that God started speaking to us about a new name. There are several times in the Bible where God gives new names to people and even places—names which reflect something of His purpose and His nature and each time they come with a fresh assignment or purpose.

The name 'Oasis' has served us well these past 26 years but it's time for us to embrace a new name which fits our calling to be a sent people, not just a gathered people, carrying the essence of God with us everywhere we go.

We are still absolutely committed to experiencing and proclaiming the transformative love and power of the risen Lord Jesus but we are also committed to sharing that anywhere, anytime and with anyone. Oasis was never meant to remain an oasis. The water level was always supposed to rise, burst the banks and flow out under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

We are now excited to announce that from September 2022, our new name will be 'The River'.

"…so that everything will live where the river goes." (Ezekiel 47:9)

We are currently working on the legal, charitable, organisational and branding elements involved with relaunching a church with a new name. Our Oasis church name is obviously what we are using for the time being and we will have a transition time as we switch each element of the church over to ‘the river’ so watch this space as things develop.
